Protect Social Security

I have not been impressed with the Bush administration's plan to change Social Security or influenced by it either. Yes, Social Security has problems. I do not think their idea to change it really fixes the problem though. Through George Soros's MoveOn.org, I sent a letter to my Senator(s) and Representative(s). Here is a copy of the letter:

I do not believe that the Bush administration has the capacity to do what is right for Social Security. They cite Clinton's plan for Social Security as a way of gaining support but the economy was drastically different during Clinton. It has sinced changed due to the tax cut that Bush carried out in his first year in office. His plan is overhyped and I have a fear that his overhaul of Social Security will be recklessly carried out. I want to see problems fixed not created and that is why I oppose Bush's plan right now.

When I typed up the letter and sent it, I also signed a petition. The petition says: "Congress must protect Social Security. It should not be phased out through a risky privatization scheme."

If you feel like I do, please click on this link and sign the petition.

Top Ten

Amazingly, I found that this site is listed in the top ten political sites in BlogExplosion, but I've been feeling down about my website. There's something really corny about it right now. "Political Hysteria" --What do you get when Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, and Democrats mix? Political Hysteria. I just wasn't feeling it anymore. So it's been changed to a better title.

As a person who wants to see changes in politics and as a person who has been greatly influenced by the Midwest because it is where I was born, the site is now "Progressive Indianan". No corny catch phrases or stupid setups...just plain ol' politics.

Hope to get some comments on the "new site" in the future and look for me to visit your blog also.
