Bush's Propaganda

propaganda n. -information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause

Promotion can be used interchangeably with the word hype. Over the course of the years that George W. Bush has inhabited the White House, Americans have come to honor him for being steadfast. Everything he says is solid and seems to be unwavering. Americans get a sense that he is picking the right thing because he shows no signs of discouragement when people criticize him. Part of the reason is the fact that he has people working underground all over the country. The Bush administration has always paid people even if it wasn't with money so that they could gain support. These people and the Bush administration work together to overhype causes.

The administration's first real use of propaganda or hype was with the Iraq war. With the 9/11 attack, the administration searched for reasons to attack Iraq even though there were no real reasons at the time. Next, the No Child Left Behind Act was promoted by Armstrong Williams who was paid to say good things about it. Other plans have been promoted by people who were paid. One must watch closely because strings will have to be pulled if Bush wants his Social Security "plan" to pass.

The recent idea of raising caps on Social Security is a perfectly legal strategy for Bush to use so that he can get what he wants. On the other hand, going underground to pay someone to ask questions of Scott McClellan is not legal in my opinion. Bush's creation of a false perception of our government damages America and must be stopped.

I put up a post calling for the protection of Social Security. While Social Security is in danger, Bush's "plan" or call for private accounts is not what America needs. I found this handy dandy calculator to calculate how much money I will lose with Bush's plan. Click here: Calculate now!
