US Sparks Holy War

Time and time again, I have said that the preemptive strike on Iraq was only the beginning of an all-out holy war in the Middle East region. No American could understand how threatened the terrorists are by our Western philosophy. More importantly, the terrorists now have captured the archbishop of Mosul. Believed to be the most prominent Catholic bishop in Iraq, the Vatican has marked this, not surprisingly, as a "terrorist act". The Catholics, utilizing their minds, have concluded that this is a means of intimidation with the hope that less voters will turnout on election day (Jan 30). In addition, Iraqi security forces took a beating today from the terrorists or insurgents. Mortars and bombs were unleashed. Twenty-two policeman and soldiers were killed. Polling stations were targeted in the process. A car bomb went off killing at least 10 in the Sunni heartland just north of Baghdad. Also, Zarqawi claimed responsibility for a guerrilla attack that killed eight soldiers in Baqouba. A police station in Dour near Saddam's hometown, Tikrit, took fire. One policeman was killed and two injured. Schools that will be used as polling stations were fired upon by insurgents and sustained damage. The violence has set up a dreadful situation that is sure to cause problems on January 30. The only way that the January 30th election will have credibility is if a good majority of Iraqis show up to vote. Otherwise, this will be a serious mistake and the entire world will be at fault.
